Lodi Health Earns ‘Top Performer on Key Quality Measures®’ Recognition from The Joint Commission

key 250

Lodi Health has been recognized as a 2014 Top Performer on Key Quality Measures® by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of health care organizations in the United States.

Lodi Health was the only hospital in San Joaquin County to be recognized as part of The Joint Commission’s 2015 annual report “America’s Hospitals: Improving Quality and Safety,” for attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measures performance for:

• Heart attacks
• Heart failure
• Pneumonia
• Surgical care
• Perinatal care

Lodi Health is one of only 1,043 hospitals out of more than 3,300 eligible hospitals in the United States to achieve the 2014 Top Performer distinction.

“Lodi Health is proud to be named a Top Performer as it recognized the knowledge, teamwork and dedication of our entire system,” said Lodi Health CEO Daniel Wolcott. “We understand what matters most to patients and families is the quality and care they receive, and we have made it top priority to improve patient outcomes through evidence-based care processes.”

The Top Performer program recognizes hospitals for improving performance on evidence-based interventions that increase the chances of healthy outcomes for patients with certain conditions.

Robotic-Assisted Surgery

daVinci-doctor-console-cartLodi Health now offers state-of-the-art technology with the installation of the da Vinci Surgery System at Lodi Memorial Hospital. Robotic-assisted general, gynecological and urological surgery means surgeons now have an alternative to traditional and laser surgery to perform even the most complex and delicate procedures through very small incisions and minimal down time. In addition, the single-site surgery option when possible allows patients to undergo a procedure, such as gall bladder surgery, with even less pain, no scarring and even faster recovery.

About our program

Since 1990, the Lodi Health Acute Physical Rehabilitation Unit has offered thousands of patients the opportunity to recover from major illnesses or injuries and return home with their families.

We are centrally located at Lodi Memorial Hospital, between I-5 and Hwy 99 in Lodi..  Lodi Health offers the only acute-physical-rehabilitation facility in San Joaquin County and strives to exceed expectations with quality care, compassion and innovative equipment.  Our team of therapists and nurses offers specialized training and experience to facilitate recovery in patients with complex medical and physical conditions.  Our rehabilitation goal is to provide intensive and coordinated care to overcome patients' new challenges, maximize patients’ functional outcomes to regain independence, and ease the transition back to home or community settings.

Our program serves patients with:
  • Strokes
  • Amputations
  • Spinal-cord injuries
  • Brain injuries
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Guillian-Barre
  • Multiple traumas
  • Neurological disorders
  • Other complex conditions

The Acute Physical Rehabilitation Unit provides a physician who specializes in rehabilitation and sees each patient at least five days a week to update and manage the patient’s medical needs. The physician oversees the care and meets weekly with the interdisciplinary team to promote recovery to the fullest potential.  The team includes: rehabilitation nurse, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech/language pathologist, recreational therapist, social worker, nurse case manager, patient discharge advocate, respiratory therapist (as needed), and registered dietician.
